Sounds Not Heard is an on-going series of sculptural works employing sound reproduction technologies. In each work, functional sound systems are subjected to simple transformations - a change of material, a surgical division, a blunt impact.

In Almost not even there at all, the active components of a sound system are cast in transparent resin; the ephemerality of sound is imposed on to the iconic tools of the trade while the ostensibly "passive" components step in to the foreground with a renewed sense of utility. In contrast, Density as a Physical Property draws on the inherent materiality of sound production and increases it's density - casting the components in coarse concrete which bears visible marks of its own physical process of creation. The wall-mounted Split presents a formerly functional sound system subjected to a surgical split, simultaneously allowing a rare view of its inner workings, while rendering the system non-operational. Recent Past Ruins, arranged as a landscape of dilapidated components, reflects on notions of obsolescence, romanticism, and technological waste.

Separately and collectively, the works play on the physical expectations of sound making and the resonant weight of silence.
